General Practitioner | MBBS, FRACGP, DRANZCOG (Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology), MPH&TM (Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine)

Special interests:

All things pregnancy related - including pregnancy planning, Shared Care, and management of unplanned pregnancies, Contraception, Sexual Health, Paediatrics, Travel Medicine, Preventative and Public health, Medical Education

Skills:

Insertion/removal of intrauterine device (Mirena IUD), insertion/removal of contraceptive implant (Implanon), Shared Antenatal Care Provider, Minor skin biopsies/excisions.

Ayesha graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2010. She obtained her fellowship of General Practice in 2015, as well as achieving a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (2012), and Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (2016). She also holds additional qualifications and experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Travel Medicine and Medical Education.

 

Ayesha has worked in multiple diverse settings across both metropolitan and rural Australia, as well as in several developing nations settings, which has given her an appreciation and passion for public health and preventative medicine.

 

She has also pursued her interest in medical education, having spent two years teaching clinical skills and running the clinical simulation programme at Kings College London. She has been involved with the medical schools at both Monash University and the University of Melbourne, and is a regular examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

 

 

Upon returning from London, Ayesha settled in the Inner North where she grew up, and has spent the last 7 years working in the area. She enjoys the variety and challenges of general practice and is committed to evidence-based practice and to helping patients achieve their full health potential. She has particular interests in women's and children's health, and is able to assist with contraception, family planning and pregnancy shared care.
 

 

Outside of work, Ayesha can be found wrangling her three small children (fuelled by copious amounts of caffeine) and enjoys exploring the great outdoors, travelling, and all things musical!
